Jennifer has been providing orthopedic and pelvic health physical therapy in Madison since 2001. Prior to launching CoreActive Therapy, she developed and promoted women's health programs, including mentorship of providers, at two area outpatient physical therapy clinics. Jennifer holds a Certificate in Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy (CAPP-Pelvic) and is currently the longest continuously BCIA certified Biofeedback provider for pelvic muscle dysfunction in the Madison area.  She studied physical therapy in Rochester, MN receiving her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences.  In graduate school she was the recipient of the Erik J. Aasen Humanitarian award.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology-Exercise Physiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1999. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Section on Women's Health of the American Physical Therapy Association.  She volunteers as a youth soccer coach and at local school events - such as 'field day', a favorite. In 2017 she founded Future Leaders WI Scholarship Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization, dedicated to identifying and providing scholarship and mentorship opportunity to resilient and positive young leaders 16years and over interested in careers in healthcare, education and community betterment.

 

Jennifer is passionate about promoting women's health & lifelong physical activity, bridging the gap between healthcare/rehab and wellness/fitness, and helping others achieve their goals. Jennifer grew up playing team sports and studying ballet from ages 3-18. After having children she began triathlon and endurance training in earnest. She is an avid runner having completed five marathons, including the 120th Boston Marathon in 2016. Jennifer completed Ironman WI 2015 as an Ironman Foundation athlete having met her fundraising goal for Coaches vs Cancer WI and was thrilled to receive messages from inspired female athletes near and far. During down time she enjoys reading, hiking, concerts, travel, and especially spending time outdoors with family & friends.

Complex back/pelvic/hip pain, EMG Biofeedback for muscle re-education and coordination training, and manual therapy (including visceral manipulation for pain relief and fertility support).

 

Overuse injuries & nutrition in endurance athletes, rehab applications of Functional Movement Screening (FMS), run analysis, rehab bike fit, soccer and dance injuries.

 

Pre-/post-partum pain prevention, Cesarean recovery & return to fitness, incontinence treatment & prevention, and osteoporosis management.
