February 2021:The CoreActive team is grateful to have received tier 1a COVID-19 vaccinations. We are currently in a FOUR (4) week extension on winter classes. We are also planning for April-May 2021. See schedule below.

At present we are offering: virtual AND very small group, in-person (masked up, 1400sf space + HEPA air filtration, assigned spots, distanced) medical fitness classes. We employ stringent health & safety measures** to mitigate COVID-19 infection risk.


**Safety Measures Note: CoreActive is a private healthcare Physical Therapy practice which works to mitigate risk for services provided. We advocate for vaccine access, utilize hospital grade HEPA air filters and PPE, space out appointments for disinfecting with EPA approved for covid-19 products, and conduct robust patient/staff/client screening. A consent waiver is required for appointment and class participation. The bottomline is we have high expectations regarding honest and timely communication for our staff and in-person clients within the scope of COVID related risk mitigation.


We understand that with vaccination rollout + prior confirmed infection/asymtomatic infection that collective infection risk is likely to reduce each month going forward. We are proud of CoreActive's leading culture of honest communication and expectations regarding risk, exposure, and behaviors.

What is Essentrics®?


Essentrics® was developed by Miranda Esmond-White, a former National Ballet of Canada ballerina, as a way to focus on elongating, invigorating, and strengthening the muscles with zero impact. It is designed to rebalance the joints and muscles to relieve pain, increase balance, and improve posture, circulation, energy, and flexibility. Essentrics® is a compilation of dynamic stretch, yoga, Pilates, ballet-like movements, and Tai Chi that are a continuous flow. The first portion of each class is done in standing on a mat in bare feet - the latter portion of each class includes stretching and relaxation and is done laying down. 


Why Essentrics®?


Essentrics® has been researched, interestingly by Miranda's daughter Sahra among others, on professional athletes, young adults, and adults at risk for falls. Essentrics® movements can be modified to benefit mobility and strength along the spine and key rotary joints (hips/shoulders) in many populations (thus two levels of class offerings at CoreActive!)


CoreActive's owner, Jennifer K., became intrigued by Essentrics® in summer 2018 when experiencing it as a method for maintaining relaxed tall posture and spinal mobility to support running. As a former dancer, Jennifer loves the focus on hip, shoulder, and upper back supple strength through specific total body motions incorporated into each class. CoreActive's Essentrics® instructors are experiened educators. At CoreActive we value specific cueing on form and technique to support those looking to remain mobile and needing modification to attain their goals, as well as athletes looking for a more challenging workout.

What is Ms Fit Therapy©?






Pelvic support issues, such as poor bladder control, affect 25% of all adults (NIH 2007) and 30-80% of female athletes of all ages - high school through masters (Goldstick/Constantini 2012). Young male military veterans and endurance athletes are also at risk.  The faster the runner and the higher the jumper, the greater the chance of experiencing this often embarrassing issue.  Years of exposure to high impact/high intensity sports, asthma/allergies, and multiple pregnancies also increase the odds of pelvic support dysfunction.


Research states that up to 40% of those participating in common core exercise programs are NOT activating the pelvic floor muscles effectively enough to prevent and/or treat common dysfunctions! (Bo 2004)


Research based, created, and taught by CoreActive's owner, Ms Fit Therapy® (MFT®) is a comprehensive core stabilization + pelvic floor muscle training program that focuses on small class size and expert instruction.  Ms Fit Therapy® exists in order to educate on the three key elements for proper pelvic floor and deep core muscle activation: breath, alignment, and graded activation.  Classes focus on enhancing the brain-body connection to prevent lumbopelvic dysfunction and act as an excellent supplement to a current Physical Therapy home exercise program (HEP).       


Whether you’re a sometimes back pain sufferer looking to improve stability, a long-time athlete striving to improve performance, or you know (or think!) you are experiencing any of the embarrassing problems mentioned above - this core and pelvic floor interval program is for you!  Improve confidence, function, and posture in a fun and educational setting.



  • Classes are generally presented in an eight week series and are progressive in nature (i.e. each week builds upon the previous)
  • Classes are open to males & females ages 16yrs +
  • MFT® is ideal for active individuals at risk for trunk/pelvis/hip weakness or instability, pelvic organ prolapse, or bladder/bowel control issues
  • Beginner/Level I class is a great fit for those at least 6wks post-partum; classes are appropriate for participation during low-risk pregnancy
