Women's Health Workshop Part I: Optimizing Sports Performance & Pelvic Health in Perimenopause - Research & Clinical Experience Based

This two (2) hour self-study Workshop is ideal for:

  • active & athletic women ages 30-50
  • current/former patients (to further learning and reinforce concepts from the clinic)
  • PTs, MDs, RNs, DOs, NPs, PAs, ATCs, coaches, personal trainers, naturopaths, acupuncturists, and other comp med providers who work with active & athletic women ages 30-50

 

Instructor: Jennifer Klestinski PT, MPT, OCS, WCS, CSCS, MDNC

This course is approved by the WI Physical Therapy Association for two (2) hours of Continuing Education (CE) credit for PTs

 

Webinar Objectives: specific to active & athletic women age 30-50...

1. Identify a valid/reliable sleep screening tool and practice two or more tips to enhance recovery/sleep quality and quanity in perimenopause
2. List and describe rationale for two specific types of strength training crucial for optimizing health and performance in perimenopause

3. Describe three characteristics of wise aerobic training in perimenopause

4. List recommended daily intake, real food sources, & role of the following nutrients: water, fiber, protein, iron

  • 1hour ~ lecture on specific strength, endurance, recovery (sleep/mindset/hydration/nutrition) research & tools 
  • 15min ~ "Favorite Things"
  • 30min ~ Ms Fit Therapy© core + pelvic floor training
  • 15min ~ guided breathing meditation

Schedule:

  • 6-7 PM ~ lecture on specific strength for longevity, cardiovascular health, & recovery (sleep/mindset/hydration/nutrition) in menopause
  • 7-7:15 PM ~ Q&A and Book Recommendations
  • 7:15-7:45 PM ~ Ms Fit Therapy© core + pelvic floor training
  • 7:45-8 PM ~ Guided breathing meditation & relaxation

3. Describe 2-3 key features of wise aerobic (cardio) training in menopause

4. List recommended daily intake, real food sources, & role of the following nutrients: water, fiber, protein, iron

 

Intended Audience: Active and athletic women age 50+ and those to care for them: PTs, MDs, NPs, PAs, DOs, coaches, personal trainers, athletic trainers, teachers, massage therapists, naturopaths, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and the college educated public. 

 

Cost: $100 check/cash (payment due at time of registration)
